On a night illuminated by the full moon, the distant sound of whips and the beating of drums creates the overture for an evening of magic soon , a fairy tale parade of fire, dancers,  musicians  and elephants adorned with rich drapes of gold 
and silver trimmings, create a vision of celestial beauty for hundreds of years. This spectacular  pageant of faith and tradition is believed to bring blessing and good fortune to this precious little isle. An isle that's also home to festivals of art, music and the biggest literary event in Asia.
